on the Internet
Texastar.com was originally registered in November of 1994 by Mr. Robert Ellis Smith, and has now been serving clients via the Internet for over 15 years. Robert has been an entrepreneur in the Texoma region of Texas and a contractor to several state government agencies in that area since the late 1980's.
Texastar.com has varied in size from one to several employees over the years, and has been a stopping off point for several developers as they grew in experience and knowledge, and finally landed that "dream job". For general contact information regarding sales, accounting, employment, etc. please visit our Contact Us page. Our current lead staff are introduced below:
Robert tells a story of how he got involved with computers as a result of sitting one day in the mid-1980's with his adult son, Erik, who was excitedly demonstrating one of the latest Commodore 64 computer text-based adventure games. When they reached a point in the game where they could not solve the puzzle, Erik exited the program and began viewing the program files using an editor. Robert tells how this view of the program files combined with his son's explanation began to make sense.
Robert soon purchased a "luggable" computer for his business travels, and in time took a number of business and computer programming courses at college. With his new skills in hand, Robert contracted a job building a Bulletin Board System for a State Regional Government Office. That position, and the BBS, soon found their way on the Internet, with Texastar.com as Robert's business domain.
Robert isn't nearly so active with the company these days, as he has settled into his new home in Sherman, Texas and looks forward to retirement playing with his grandchildren.

For various and sundry personal reasons, not everyone want's to have their name plastered across the internet. So a few of our people have asked to remain in the background for now. Rest assured that they are loved, and cared for, and only beaten every other Sunday ;)
